For the first time in Vietnam, TOMECO has successfully designed and manufactured a massive air supply fan system for Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant – the largest hydropower facility in Southeast Asia.
With a total system capacity exceeding 1,000kW, this breakthrough project marks the replacement of the obsolete Soviet-era system with equipment proudly developed and built entirely in Vietnam.

The installation of the new air supply fans not only improves worker safety in the harsh underground environment but also sustains optimal efficiency for the region’s largest hydropower plant. It serves as clear evidence of TOMECO’s capability to develop and manufacture world-class industrial fan solutions in Vietnam.
Challenges and Innovative Solutions
The project posed significant challenges: the fans had to be installed in deep tunnels with extremely limited space. This required meticulous research and innovative engineering. TOMECO developed a modular fan design that could be disassembled into smaller parts, making it possible to transport and install through narrow tunnel entrances.
Furthermore, the system was engineered for energy efficiency and seamless compatibility with Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant’s existing infrastructure—ensuring both high performance and energy savings. The innovation and technical expertise of TOMECO’s engineering team enabled the successful completion of this highly complex project.
Strengthening TOMECO’s Position in Industrial Fan Manufacturing
This project cements TOMECO’s position as a pioneer in Vietnam’s industrial fan manufacturing sector. More importantly, it represents a step forward in Vietnam’s ambition to compete on the global stage with world-class industrial solutions.
It is a proud achievement that reflects TOMECO’s commitment to providing high-quality, innovative solutions for major industrial facilities in Vietnam and abroad.
